Hello, my name is Saori Okawa. I have been attending City College of San Francisco from summer of 2017. My focus is in Psychology, and in the future, I am interested in pursuing degrees and working in the field of social work and clinical counseling. I picked the topic on the homeless crisis for my research because I have a personal interest in homelessness as I had chances to interact with homeless people while living here in San Francisco.
My volunteer experiences in San Francisco include working at Information Desk at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, and serving in dining room at St. Anthony’s, which is a nonprofit organization that offers social services. I also joined Star Outreach at Star of the Sea Church in San Francisco to serve the homeless.
I hope my blog can raise awareness on homelessness as I truly believe it deserves more light and attention. I would also love to hear any suggestions and ideas on how I can improve my research on this topic. Thank you !
